The Lady in Red

Unspoken, Unheard, Unseen yet obsequious

Why my heart aches at thy absence!

Such untold misery crucifies my soul

Like a sea-monster latched onto the grappling hook-

Am I supposed to feel this? But why?

Is it thee, The Woman in Red?

Let me hold thee-

Oh! The Woman in Red-

Are you like those sugarcoated sweetness?

Where lust forgets to repent its sin,

Infecting the soul with thy poison ivy!

Then a surrogated evil elates over the good.

So let me hold thee-

Consequence! Oh no my beloved,

Destiny it is.

Nor the effect of cupid’s arrow!

A fate written by the most superior,

For our hearts to me mingled.

So let me hold thee for the very last time-

’cause maybe it’s the last chance to feel again.
